Welcome to The Creatives Journal. We’re a space for emerging voices, thoughtful storytelling, and creative work that lingers. We read submissions with care and curiosity, and we love publishing pieces that feel honest, intentional, and beautifully made.

Before you submit, please note that submissions are currently unpaid and free to send in. Our aim is to keep this space accessible to writers and creatives at all stages.

 

What We’re Looking For

We accept original written work between 50 and 2000 words, including:

  • Poetry

  • Short fiction

  • Non-fiction

  • Short stories

  • Biographies

  • Essays

We do not accept:

  • Adult or sexually explicit material

  • Defamatory or abusive content

  • Racist, hateful, illegal, or otherwise offensive work

If content of this nature is submitted or later receives complaints, it may be removed. Any complaints are reviewed before permanent removal.

Exclusivity & Response Time

We welcome exclusive submissions. This means your work should not be published elsewhere, online or in print, while it is under consideration with us.

We aim to respond within 2–4 weeks. If you haven’t heard back after that time, you’re welcome to submit your work elsewhere. If your piece is accepted by another publication during our review period, please let us know so we can withdraw it from consideration.

How to Submit

Before sending, take a moment to check spelling and grammar. A clean submission helps us focus on your ideas and voice.

Formatting Your Submission

Email subject line:
Your Name – Title of Piece – Genre

In the body of your email, please include:

  • Title of your work

  • Word count

  • Genre or style

  • Any relevant tags or content warnings

  • Whether you’ve submitted to us before

  • Whether you’ve been published with us before (include titles if applicable)

  • A confirmation that you’ve read and agree to these Submission Guidelines and Terms & Conditions

Attachments:

  • Your written work as a Microsoft Word document

  • If you’d like a specific cover image included with your piece, attach it separately. Images must be high resolution and you must own the rights or have permission to use them. Written work and images should be sent as two separate attachments.

By submitting work to The Creatives Journal, you agree that:

  • You own the copyright to your work and have the legal right to submit it.

  • We reserve the right to accept, reject, edit, or remove submissions at our discretion, with or without explanation.

  • Submissions are made without financial compensation, now or in the future.

  • Content considered defamatory, racist, illegal, or offensive will not be published.

  • By submitting, you grant us an exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish your work across The Creatives Journal and its associated platforms, with full credit given to you as the creator.

  • You agree to receive email communication from us regarding your submission. If we are unable to contact you, your submission may be withdrawn.

  • All submissions must be written in English.

  • Please use consistent spelling (either UK or US) and clear, readable grammar.

  • Submissions should be formatted in Arial, 10pt, single-spaced, with all embedded styles removed.

  • All submissions must be provided in Microsoft Word format.
