The Secret Door

I never dreamt to find you here

A lonely figure from afar

And now, it seems, so near.

Beyond the door that no one knew about,

How did you enter here

When others merely looked and passed on by?

How could you know this place was just for you?

For many others tried to enter too

But, hidden from the common gaze,

The doorway kept its secret well concealed

And I was happily alone and hid from view.

You were a stranger not so long ago

But when you found this secret door

It was as if we both had always known

That life and love and everything we hold dear

Was for the two of us to share, year after year, after year

Too late! No going back now that you are here.

Is this the end of something or the start?

Now that you found this secret door, this hidden door,

The doorway to my heart…
